Happy 2009!

Have you ever heard the saying "Whatever you do on New Year's Day is what you'll be doing all year long?" Well, I'm not superstitious - but if you believe that saying then this is what we'll be doing all year long:

1. Waking up to Drake with gum in his hair.

And just in case you ever need to know a really good way to get gum out of hair - just google that phrase "how to get gum out of hair" and Mr. Internet will give you a bazillion solutions to your problem. This particular day we chose the hair mousse problem solver and by golly it worked! And fast! And painlessly! And with no mess! And without having to cut the hair! I'm still astounded quite frankly!

2. Continuously washing a little white dog when she comes home black.

Absolutely no clue where she was or what she was doing in such a short amount of time - but I'm guessing it had to do with a mud hole or pond somewhere on the property. And, of course, we had just given her a bath the day before. Wouldn't ya know it?

3. Playing board games.
4. Weighing hogs.
5. Eating good food with family and friends.
6. Celebrating my mom's birthday! Happy Birthday, again, Mom!
Okay - so numbers 3 through 6 are not bad. In fact, they're all ordinary and customary in the overall scheme of things.
The board game is a fun little game called Life on The Farm that the kids got for Christmas (along the line of Monopoly but for farm life).
And 4 and 5 are certainly not out of the ordinary for us. They're pretty typical.
BUT the other two, the first two, are not exactly how I envisioned bringing in the New Year! All's well that ends well they always say!
Happy New Year!

The picture of your dog reminds me of our lab ozzy! He loves to swim and will swim every morning in the pond next door no matter how cold it is...or if we just gave him a bath. It is so frustrating!

Happy New Year!
