This will be the first in a series of blogs over a period of time while we - you guessed it - build a barn! This barn has been 12 years in the making in my sweet husband's mind - and finally we are making it come true!
First: The "before" picture.
Moving along to the first item of business: Moving the goats! Since the barn is going to take up much of the space of the open pasture as well as where the goats currently live, we had to move them to a temporary pen, which, of course, had to be built first.
So, we took down their old fencing and moved it to the far east of the yard and rebuilt it.
(For perspective - the goats are now in the far left of the picture instead of behind the white feed shed)
They are settling in fine.
We are very excited about our new barn. When it's completed it will essentially house everything under one roof; pigs, goats, feed, whatever else we can think of between now and then, etc. And we'll finally be able to breed our little Sunday and she'll have a nice place to kid - and a place for milking, too! Exciting!
Stay tuned!
